REDPATH VILLAGE, EARLSTON

One place study

I am specifically interested in the local history of Berwickshire. Most of the larger market towns in the Borders have websites or Facebook pages that record the history of the area. Earlston, in particular, has the Auld Earlston Group website.

On this site, I have added the information collected over the years on Redpath Village. Redpath is a small village in Berwickshire, 2 miles south of Earlston. In the past, it consisted of two small roads (the Main Street and the Back Lane) with rows of cottages and workshops which were punctuated at each end by two farms, at the west and east end. Much of the land and some of the village cottages were owned by the three landowners from the surrounding farms, Kirkland’s, Cowdenknowes, and Park.

Not all information collected has been added to the site and enquiries or further information is always welcome at the cockburnclan93@gmail.com email address
